If you’re looking for a TV that will show the best image Sharp is the better of the two. You’ll get much more accurate colors, smoother action images and the like. HP makes TVs that are fantastic for home media, they even have a 37″ model with wireless internet, but they do not show the most accurate image. Longevity is pretty similar for all LCDs…their light source is supposed to last around 60,000 hours. According to Consumer Reports Sharp has a fantastic repair record.
