19 Dec 09 How can you get pencil marks off of a computer flat screen monitor?
My 2 year ancient got ahold of a pencil at my computer desk and drew on my flat screen monitor… :-O Is there anything I can do to get it off w/o harming my screen? Thanks!
I MODIFIED MY Question:
My daughter got ahold of a pencil and had alot of fun drawing on my flat screen monitor… I cant get all of the smudges off… HELP! 
I tried a paper towel that was a bit damp but it now I have smudge marks… Any advice? Thanks!

try a soft cloth with a bit of warm water
Pencil should wipe right off. If it’s on the monitor and there’s a plastic cover that is smooth over you monitor (glossy end) you should be able to wipe it off with a slightly damp cloth.
If you have a matte end (which is like a grainy, rough feeling screen) you may be able to take a CLEAN pencil eraser and rub very very lightly in one direction. if you press too hard you’ll leave buff marks on the screen. But it’s just pencil. You may be able to rub it or just leave it alone and let it ware off (assuming it’s not a mini Picasso on your screen)
But don’t panic it’s not permanent
My brother owns his own computer business. He builds them. My son place permanent marker on mine, and he told me to use rubbing alcohol, and it took it right off. It really works, and it does no hurt at all!
Your monitor has an antiglare coating and that is what the graphite is sticking to kow. You need to get an artists eraser (the soft white kind, from an art store) and pressing gently slowly erase the marks. If you rub too hard you can smear the coating and if you go too quick you can heat up and melt the coating.
Do not be too hard on him/her please
