03 Dec 09 How can I make a flat monitor connected to my laptop produce the same color and show my laptop desktop items?

I connected a flat screen, an MPC monitor, to my laptop and the problem is that flat screen shows a greenish color and does not show my laptop desktop items but only the background picture. I want to make the MPC flat monitor look the same as the screen on my laptop with all the desktop itmes. What is the problem? Could somebody help, please?
