I am amazed that the other reviewers laud the picture quality. I have a 6 year old RCA which I considered to be a poor tv (weighed over 200 pounds), but the screen on that shows no pixelation and more realistic color. There is NO comparison in picture quality and this one cost $300 more that that did. I was really shocked at how bad the picture is; it's actually annoying. Plasma supposedly gets worse over time. I can't wait.

When something moves onscreen you get a shadow, the TV takes a while to start, the screen jumps to adjust whenever you change channels, channel changing is slow. Really, this is the worst TV I have had since the 1960's. If you do not HAVE to hang your TV on a wall, do not buy this TV. Frankly, there are ones with better pictures than this. But don't buy a flat screen unless you need to. The quality is MUCH better on non flat models. At this point, cool technology loses out to plain decent functionality. My best TV is the RCA -- sad to say.

Bought this product as a refurbished item from the Phillips on-line store. Suddenly stopped working in the middle of game 5 of the NBA finals - first the picture went off, and then the sound. The green indicator light changed to a blinking red, and refused to even power off using either the remote button or the power button on the TV! Eventually had to unplug it to switch it off. Even though it's "under warranty", the only way to get any work done on it is to haul it to an authorized Phillip center, which is about 50 miles away. Checked on-line forums - apparently is a common, expensive problem with no easy solution. Had an independent, trusted TV repair man look at the problem - he immediately recommended scrapping the TV, and said it was a very common problem with Phillip TVs, and would cost at least $450 to fix. My strong recommendation is to never purchase a TV from Phillips!

This is my first plasma screen and once I got the HD signal to it I was amazed. I can not wait to get it mounted on my wall instead of on the stand.

I can't imagine getting something from Amazon and not having it complete. I think the previous reviewer may have bought at a local store where it could have been previously opened.

My experiences with Amazon have been uniformally good

We purchased a Phillips 42" plasma TV and it had constant problems. Now it is no longer working and cannot be fixed. WE had 2 different repair men look at the TV and they cannot get it to work. Never buy a Phillips. They have terrible quality and bad customer service.

The picture was great but. . . . . When the TV arrived it had no remote in the box. When I called Philips, they said they could not send me a remote; therefore, I boxed it up and sent it back. Very poor service from Philips.

This is a great monitor. The LCD display is wonderful and a huge change from the old regular computer monitor. The clarity of the picture is excellent, the colors are vibrant and pop out, and the whole design is sleek and modern. Mine is almost exactly like this except with a silver base. Its very light weight, easy to move, and convenient. Its a silver color and has the speakers built right into the monitor. The sound clarity is excellent. I love playing music and DVD'S on the computer and this is perfect for that. I would recommend this computer monitor to anyone. 17 or 19 inch model.

Normally, the ones which are being taxed are those exceeding 24" for television.

You are advised to purchase a 20" Flatron monitor in Philippines to avoid risk of being taxed.
Although Dubai is tax free port, but prices of Monitors must be cheaper in Philippines, and if the unit is taxed will cost you more.
visit following link and make your mind buying in Philippines

After calling LG/Zenith I got the 'we're not responsible but we'll fix your set for free' certified letter. The local repair company began installing the new light engine in my living room but found after complete disassembly that the new engine was not correct and would not work. He loaded up my set and took it to get another engine, he claims to be on the 4th light engine from LG since each one is either wrong for the set or won't work upon installation. I hope they take care of this no matter if the problem is their parts or their choice of repairman or I'll be the one starting the class action!

It seems that i'm not the only one that has had a problem with this tv. I've been through two of these tv's, the first within 3 months, still under warranty thank god!! and now the second one is needing repair not even 2 years later. Of course it's not under warranty anymore so now i'm in the same boat as everyone else. A tv with a bunch of blue lines and such.
